Created in 1982, LIFFE today is part of Intercontinental Exchange (ICE) group following a series of takeovers during which LIFFE was acquired by Euronext in 2002, then Euronext was taken over by the NYSE in 2007, becoming NYSE Euronext. Intercontinental Exchange then purchased NYSE Euronext in 2013 to form ICE NYSE. LIFFE is part of that group under the name ICE Futures Europe.
