The Lithuanian Litas was the official currency of Lithuania before the country adopted the Euro. It was in use from 1993 to 2015.
The Lithuanian Litas was introduced after Lithuania gained independence in 1990. It was replaced by the Euro on January 1, 2015, when Lithuania, along with several other European countries, adopted the common currency.

Coins and Banknotes
The Lithuanian Litas had various denominations of coins and banknotes. Coins were issued in centas and litas, while banknotes were issued in various denominations.
Euro Adoption
Lithuania adopted the Euro on January 1, 2015. From this date, the Lithuanian Litas ceased to be legal tender, and all transactions switched to the Euro.
Since the adoption of the Euro, the Lithuanian Litas is no longer in circulation, and any remaining banknotes and coins are considered collector's items. The Euro is now the official currency used in Lithuania.
