The Slovak Koruna was the official currency of Slovakia before the country adopted the Euro. It was in use from 1993 to 2009.
The Slovak Koruna was introduced after the dissolution of Czechoslovakia in 1993. It was replaced by the Euro on January 1, 2009, when Slovakia, along with several other European countries, adopted the common currency.

Coins and Banknotes
The Slovak Koruna had various denominations of coins and banknotes. Coins were issued in haliers and Korunas, while banknotes were issued in various denominations.
Euro Adoption
Slovakia adopted the Euro on January 1, 2009. From this date, the Slovak Koruna ceased to be legal tender, and all transactions switched to the Euro.
Since the adoption of the Euro, the Slovak Koruna is no longer in circulation, and any remaining banknotes and coins are considered collector's items. The Euro is now the official currency used in Slovakia.
